Jong Panel VIERNULVIER + Studio ALTA / Inside Out

The partner project Jong Panel VIERNULVIER + Studio ALTA / Inside Out builds on this experience. It brings both institutions together around a shared question: how to involve young people in decision-making, cultural policy and the everyday running of organisations. Shared values of civic engagement, participation and openness thus turn into concrete cooperation across Europe.

These principles were already clear at the Jong Panel’s first public event, “Kunst Onder Druk” (4 September 2025), which the Jong Panel organised together with the VIERNULVIER communication department. A representative of Studio ALTA (Orin Rodriguez) was invited too, opening the space for a first international dialogue.

Several key themes emerged from the discussions and joint meetings. Questions of European citizenship and freedom are highly topical for the young generation and resonate strongly. There is also a clear need to step outside established institutional frameworks and gain experience abroad. In this context Studio ALTA becomes the first official partner of the Jong Panel, allowing young people from Belgium to share their experience in a Central European setting.

In the world of art and culture, young people often find themselves on the margins, feeling a certain distance and unable to get to the centre of things. The Jong Panel breaks this pattern and brings the young generation straight into decision-making. Studio ALTA takes a similar approach and has long worked with a distinctly young team. This generational shift brings new impulses as well as challenges. One of the aims of the partnership is therefore to open up the “blind spots” of older structures and create space for sharing and reflecting on them.
