House of Sweat
Basic information
The House of Sweat is a residency program designed for performative art projects that are conceived or adapted for the specific environment of Studio ALTA’s sauna and its immediate surroundings. The call for proposals focuses on projects that explore new ways of working with intimate spaces, proximity to the audience, and unconventional formats of performative art.
Both projects already in development and those still in the early stages of creation are eligible to apply.
The residency will take place from February 1–10, 2027, and is intended for one selected project.
A condition of the residency is a public presentation in the form of a work-in-progress or a premiere in the sauna space and its surroundings as part of the program block from February 9–12, 2027. Upon agreement, the selected project may also be included in Studio ALTA’s year-round program.

THE RESIDENCY PROGRAM INCLUDES:
- artist fee of 15,000 CZK per project
- a 10-day residency
- creative facilities: sauna, rehearsal spaces, and public spaces in the surrounding area as needed for the project
- dramaturgical support from the team during project development
- production support and consultation during the residency (this does not constitute full-scale production of the entire project)
- technical consultation (this does not include a lighting/sound designer dedicated solely to your project)
- PR consultation (including promotion of the project on our social media channels)
- 2 days of intensive production and technical support during the final phase of the project, including the use of Studio ALTA’s technical equipment
